Having
been nurtured on popular culture and the messages engendered in advertising,
my work is often an embodiment of these dictates, coupled with an
inner spiritual nature that sustains me.
Through the plasticity and immediacy of paint, the fragmentation of
collage and the application of gold leaf, I have managed to pit spirituality
against consumerism, sexuality against the objectification of women,
traversed landscapes both real and imaginary and given the range of
these contradicting dynamics, my work allows me to remain a seeker
of beauty, strength and optimism.
